Letter Of Agreement

Letter of Agreement for Workshops & Lectures

This is to confirm that George & Virginia Siciliano will present workshop(s) and/or lecture for:

 

Lecture: $400 for a 1.5 hour lecture, plus Q&A session. Minimum of 1 full-day workshop required in order to reserve a non-local lecutre (within 100 miles of Lebanon, PA). PLEASE schedule our presentation before your business meeting and/or show and tell.

 

Workshops: $500 per day for full-day workshops. $400 for half-day workshops. Workshops require a minimum of 15 students and up to 40 students.

Retreats: Our multi-day (3 or 4 days) retreat packages are $600 per day. Minimum 15 students and up to 40 students. (This package includes our trunk show presentation).

All payments including- Lecture, Workshops and Expenses: are due immediately upon completion.

Vending: George and Virginia's pattenrs, books, fabrics and notions will be available for sale to interested students at both workshops and lectures. The guild / conference will not expect to collect a commission from these sales. Because students like to purchase and use the same items that were demonstrated and we wish to maximize the students learning experience, we will require that your venue allows the free exchange of money.

Classroom Requirements: The classroom must have an electrical sourse for each student table. We do not use irons. We will need 3 tables for George and Virginia's workshop materials and a work station for George & Virginia to demonstrate various techniques.

Lecture Requirements: We will bring our own quilt stands and podium. The guild / conference must provide one table up front for "staging" the quilts and 3 tables on the side of back of the hall for display of items for sale.

Workshop Notes: Supply lists can be downloaded from George and Virginia's website from the "Workshop" page.

Kit Fees:

#1: All sewing classes have a required $20 kit fee. This kit has the complete pattern with foundations, schematic, worksheets and other useful information. It also includes George's "Triple Duty Seam Allownace Guide."

#2: There is an optional kit fee of $60 which includes all of the items in the required kit #1 plus the fabric needed to complete the top.

The workshop kit fees are collected by George & Virginia a tthe end of the workshop, no exceptions. The guild will not collect these fees in advance as it only creates confusion.

Transportation: All travel expenses to and from our home in Lebanon, PA to your location and back home will be borne by the guild / conference. Since we do not fly, you will be charged the current IRS mileage rate for the round trip. If we could extend our trip wit other guilds within 100 miles, all travel and additional lodging expenses will be shared.

Lodging: George & Virginia require lodging in a FIRST FLOOR non-smoking hotel/motel room. No private homes. The guild will pay the hotel fees with a credit card before our arrival. Preferred accommodations would be similar to a Holiday In Express, Hampton Inn, Comfort Inn, etc.

LODGING provided by your group:

Meals: All meals for George & Virginia will be proveded by the guild / conference while we are on location.

Cancelation: The guild or George & Virginia may cancel or postpone a visit up to 30 days prior to the event. Cancelation for unforeseen circumstances (sickness, weather, etc.) can be at any time. If the guild should cancel after we have left our home, they would be responsible for and billed for our mileage to and from your location.

If your workshop cancels in the middle of a multi-venue tour, your group will be responsible for covering our daily minimum rate of $500.

Agreement: A signed copy of this agreement must be returned to George Siciliano before a firm commitment can be made. If your groupwould like to reserve future dates, but as not yet booked a venue or made desicions on which workshops to schedule, please insert TBA (to be announced) on the form. A completed copy of this agreement must subsequently be forwarded at a later date and at least 60 days before the scheduled workshops/lectures.

The guild / conference will provide the name of a second person in your organization that can be contacted in the event that the organizer / program chair is not available.

If you have received this document it is the same as if I have signed it and agreed to all of the terms. Please print a copy and return the signed copy to my address listed below. At that point, I will acknowledge receipt and "ink" you in for the days you have listed above. If I do not recieve and acknowledge its receipt, I will assume we do not have an agreement and release the days for other purposes. This must be accomplished within 25 dats of the date of this email. Call me if there is a problem repsonding in this time frame.
